A Tour of Community Resistance to Fracked Gas from Extraction to Export
While many here in Southern Oregon know the Jordan Cove project would export fracked gas, most of us don't know firsthand how fracking impacts the communities where it takes place.
Community resistance against the proposed Jordan Cove project in Oregon has been ongoing for more than a decade, with communities speaking out about all the ways Jordan Cove would negatively impact us. At the same time, there's been strong community opposition to reins-free fracking in western Colorado, incidentally some of the communities at either end of Jordan Cove, where the gas would come from. The fossil fuel industry wants us to remain disconnected and isolated, but instead we're building relationships between the upstream and downstream communities facing the Jordan Cove project and the fossil fuel & natural gas industry and recognizing our shared struggle.
Join us 6:30 pm at the Talent Community Center for a presentation & discussion with a tour group of community members from the anti-Jordan Cove campaign in southern Oregon and fracking-impacted communities in western Colorado about the connection between Jordan Cove & fracking.
After the presentation, we'll head over to the Pumphouse for a 'no-host happy hour' for anyone that wants to chat more!
